The Beauty of a Blank Canvas...

A Blank Canvas is Like a Blank Mind... Free to Wander...

It was so nice to be able to post my latest finished painting last week. Particularly as it took me so long to complete! But there is only one thing equally exciting to me as a finished piece of work... and that is the blank canvas.

I used to find a blank canvas intimidating, but these days I actually find it inspiring! I imagine all of the possibilities... what might emerge from that white space and how it might look in a few weeks... Of course that might be absolutely horrific and with a foot right through the middle (Yep! Done that before), but right now... at this moment, I am free to imagine my very best ever piece of work!

Okay, so I'd be lying if I said I didn't find laying the first brush stroke a bit scary, but before that, I am just full of hope that I can turn it in to something beautiful.

I wonder what this one will bring...
