Oil of Fine Linen Canvas
40 x 50cm
On a scale of 1-10, in the difficulty of photographing dark paintings, i'd definitely give it a 10!
There is always the problem of glare from any light source bouncing from the surface, so what looks a little dull and washed out here, is a significantly richer and warmer painting in reality.
Ah well, you get the idea.
This painting was inspired by those we lost this year. In some respects 2018 has been wonderful, but in others it has been incredibly sad. But I have always believed that just because you can't see someone, it doesn't mean they're not there... as this painting clearly demonstrates.
Anyway, I am off to Cuba in a couple of weeks and I already know exactly what I'm going to paint when I get back. And I'll give you a clue... One of the items, I'll be bringing home with me from Cuba!
I want to wish all of you a very happy and HEALTHY New-Year. I plan to make this a creative one!
Q. Have you ever painted something with a deeper meaning?
