I published a Children’s book!…
Disappointed by the children’s lack of appreciation for the coins she left beneath their pillows, Floss decided it was time to hand in her notice as a tooth fairy and try something new. Meanwhile, Fairyland was in trouble; all of the fairy dust had been stolen and unless it was returned, Fairyland would soon have to close down. As Floss braves some unlikely career choices, not only does she face her biggest fears, but she also manages to unravel the mystery of the missing fairy dust!

From Realism to Fairy Dust: A New Creative Adventure!
What’s New?
Well, here’s some news you probably didn’t expect from a realism artist…
Cue drumroll…
Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… I published a children’s book — and guess who wrote it?
This magical little story was written by me and my friend (and fellow creative spirit), Tara Roskell.
And here’s the part that might surprise you: I illustrated it too! Yes, the ‘realism’ artist drew fairies, characters, and a cover. As soon as we started writing about Floss, I had a clear picture in my mind of what she looked like — and bringing her to life on the page was pure joy.
Who’s it for?
This is a lovely bedtime story, and you can get the gist of what it’s about by reading the synopses on the left, below the cover.
Deciding on an age group was a bit tricky:
A 5-year-old wouldn’t be able to read it alone, but they would absolutely LOVE listening to it, especially as they reach the age when their teeth start falling out!
An 11-year-old who can read it independently would also thoroughly enjoy it.
At its heart, this magical tale reminds us that with a little courage, even a small fairy can achieve BIG things.
This is my way of celebrating the beginning of Autumn; with something completely different! And - with the festive season soon to be just around the corner, it’s the perfect stocking filler for the children in your family.
Where to get your copy?
The book is available on Kindle, paperback, and hardback. Personally, I recommend the hardback — this is a story meant to be read and re-read, and I believe all children should be surrounded by books.
The very best way to support this little venture (apart from reading the book, of course!) is to leave a review on Amazon. Reviews make a huge difference in how many people discover it.
And What About the Art?
You may remember we got a puppy back in February — Watson, is now 9 months old! He’s finally at a much calmer stage where I can return to my easel.
I’ve just picked up a painting I started when he was still tiny. It’s another painting of bottle tops. Remember this one? Only this time, just five bottle tops, painted up-close and in detail. I’ve just started the upper-layer, so watch this space for updates!
Will I Write Again?
The truth is, I’ve always loved to write. But it very much depends on how this one is received. If I wrote again it would more likely be a novel for adults, with a comic twist to it (of course!).
Don’t worry though — painting will always come first.
