Art Exhibition, Opening Night...
Above left, fellow artist and friend, Kerry Caffyn. Above right, me!
I was crazy-nervous about the open evening of the exhibition that I held with one of my oldest friends, Kerry. But I needn't have been. The evening was a huge success!
Above, some of my artwork on display
Above, Kerry's artwork and her children, who became our little helpers!
The photos above were taken when everything was set up and we were almost ready to open the doors. Considering it was chucking it down with rain, we were wondering if anyone would come at all! But, then our first guest arrived, dead on 6pm... and it was a lady I've been chatting with for about eight years online!
Above right, my online friend and illustrator, Catherine Constance.
It was funny, because Catherine's online profile picture is one of her illustrations, so I actually had no idea who she was when she walked in. I assumed she must be someone known to Kerry! It wasn't until some five or ten minutes later that she introduced herself! I felt so bad for not realising straight away!
It wasn't long before lots of other people started drifting in and the place was buzzing with people. I reckon over the three hours we must have had around 100 visitors? We were chuffed to bits!
Not only that, but we both sold a painting on the opening night! I sold 'Comfortably Numb' which was featured in my previous blog post.
The paintings will remain hanging until the end of the month, so do pop by if you get a chance!
