How I Sketch an Eye, 2...

How I Sketch an Eye, 2...

At the request of my lovely arty friend, Jennifer Mclean, from the blog, 'Just Add Water Silly', I made another time-lapse video of me sketching an eye...

Well, I wouldn't want to break a promise, now would 'eye'! (I see your eyes roll)...

This time, the eye is sporting a big bell-bottomed tear. I do hope she cheers up soon!
I wonder what her story is...
A lost love perhaps? ...Or maybe she's just peeling onions! Let's hope so!
There is lots coming up... More progress shots of my latest bottle painting, a new joint Podcast episode with Tara Roskell from 'The Idea Medic' and some other creative posts for you to enjoy.

So, watch this space!
Meanwhile...
Q. What subject would you most like to see me sketch in a time-lapse?
(I might make one just for you!)

Week in a nutshell...

Working on: The next joint podcast episode, which is extra bonkers!
Planning: A full weekend of painting and creative experiments.
Acheivement:  Cleaned and organised my Art Studio - I couldn't bare it any longer!
Highlight: Meeting my online arty friend at last! The super-talented artist 'Tricia Wellings' You should definitely check out her amazing work! And she is just the most lovely person. It was like I'd known her for years!

12 Ways to Come Up With Creative Ideas...

So I had great fun co-hosting a Podcast episode with creative genius Tara Roskell, creator of 'The Idea Medic.'

You can listen to the entire Podcast episode here, but meanwhile here is the loony-bin trailer made for the episode!

I just love the super-hero capes, lol!

Tara and I plan to do more joint episodes every now and then. So here is my question for you...
 Q. What subject would you most like to hear us talk about?

Week in a nutshell...

Making: Another timelapse sketch, as requested by Jennifer McLean, from the blog 'Just Add Water, Silly!'
Planning: To drink a few too many... But it's for a very creative reason, so watch this space!
Watching:  'In the Dark' (Gripping!)
Happy about: She is back! Yes, Tracey Fletcher-King is blooging again after a five month break! If you haven't seen her blog, it's a must for all those who enjoy a good laugh!

Sketching Quickly, Made Easy...

Sketching Quickly, Made Easy...

...So, how do I sketch quickly?

Well, first of all I make a sketch... and then I turn it into a time-lapse!
See? Easy-Peasy! ;0)

I'm still working away on my latest painting. So meanwhile I thought that this would be the perfect time to share something a little different with you for a change!

...Inspired a few months ago by Danny Gregory's book, 'Art Before Breakfast', I've been putting aside some time every weekday morning to sketch something, however small, before I start my day... and I can't think of a more creative way to kick off a day than that!

Sometimes I keep it super simple and sometimes I might work it up to something a little more refined. I'd say that this sketch is somewhere in-between.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking of making a whole series of videos dedicated to sketching, for my new You Tube channel (which is still very raw right now btw)... What do you think? Would you like to see more?
Q. Do you make time for daily sketching?
(Share in the comments below!)

Week in a nutshell...

Making: More videos
Learnt about: Instagram 'Shadowbanning'... My accout is ok, but is yours? Check here.
Watching:  'Feerless' (V. gritty!)
Discovered: 'Linktree' If you don't know what that is and you are on Instgram... you should check it out!

An Podcast Interview on 'The Idea Medic'...

A Podcast Interview on The Idea Medic...

If someone had asked me a year ago if I thought I would ever be interviewed on a Podcast, I would have laughed! No way... Who would be interested? And besides, I really don't have the voice for a microphone... My husband says there are times when surely only a dog can hear me... and it's not unusual for me to answer the phone, only to be asked, 'Is Mummy or Daddy there?'

That said, thanks to my day job, I have finally managed to master the art of sounding more 'adult' like on the phone and less like a ten year old child, which is just as well, because as you might remember, I was invited to be a guest on Youngman Browns Podcast,  'Your Creative Push' only recently (You can listen to that interview here).

I was blown away to be asked, so as you can imagine, I was bowled over to be invited so soon afterwards by creative genius, Tara Roskell to be a guest on her own, brand new Podcast, 'The Idea Medic!'
Most of Tara's questions were quite different to the ones I was asked before, so if you'd like to listen, you can click on this link.

...It was so much fun. It was like I'd known Tara for years (though maybe it helped that I wasn't quite so petrified this time!)

Anyway, out of the experience came the bonkers plan to create a joint episode on how to come up with creative ideas... How fun is that?? I'll let you know how that one goes!

Meanwhile I'm still busy working a way at those coke bottles. Progress shots coming soon, I promise!

Q. What are you working on right now?

Week in a nutshell...

Low point: Linking my blog comments system to Facebook, only to find that as a result I lost every single comment on all of my previous posts! Very sad :0(
Funny moment: When a Horse-Fly flew down my shirt in the studio and in my panic while trying to get it out, my boobs made an appearance... which is really only funny because I was making a time-lapse video when it happened! Haha!  (I don't think I'll be showing that bit!)
Watching:  'The Loch' (V. good)
Feeling: Motivated
